Bard Kids
People are being loud outside the room.
Girl X shuts the door.
People outside the door leave.
I go to bathroom and reopen door so people know they can work in the room.
Girl X takes this as a slight against her choice to close the door.
She goes to the bathroom and re-closes the door, even though there is no reason to.
Really?
What the fuck? Am I retarded or does this make no sense? (by that I mean your story, not what happens)
it makes no sense.
EDIT:
People are being loud outside a room.
Girl X shuts the door so the people outside cannot be heard.
The people outside decide to leave.
I go to bathroom and reopen door, as the people outside are no longer around and therefore no longer making noise.
Girl X takes this as an attack against her choice to close the door.
She goes to the bathroom and re-closes the door
Really?
Actual story: Students were kicked out of Study Space last night. I got a call from a friend explaining this to me and then called the director of Study Space to see what I should do. She sent me to try and get it back. I ran over, confronted the head of Chartwells, who was around for Midnight Breakfast, and tried to explain to him that with finals this week students desperately need a place to work. He became defensive, I became defensive, the best defense is a good offense, and punches were thrown, I won. I’m a benevolent victor however, and agreed to move the study space somewhere else so they could clean up. We were relocated to a large room in the basement of Albee. The room was spacious, but it’s location was obscure. If someone was to shut the door to the room, no one would know it was even there. So shutting the door for silence, even after I asked the people to “keep it down”, made it difficult for people to find the room now functioning as the Study Space. This is why, once the raucous folk had left, I took the opportunity to re-open the door. Therefore, her re-closing the door served no function other than to defy my choice as study space monitor(It was especially obvious I was the monitor after the nights previous events). It was annoying, but I try not to let things like that get to me.
